1. Prayer Chain
Our prayer team prays faithfully and confidently for all those in our church family and beyond. We have a prayer list that includes names of those in need of prayer, and our team raises those on this list in prayer. Our prayer ministry also includes prayer blankets, which are available for those who need to feel the comfort of God’s love.
2. Acts of Random Kindness Team
A team of disciples get together once a month to plan out ways to offer kindness to members of our congregation and members of our community in. We create several projects each month with the end result being all about Jesus’ love being shown to others. The ARK team does its ministry for the sake of love.
3. Sewing Team
Every Monday and Thursday morning, we have an eager and faithful group of members who put together amazing quilts out of just about any type of material! They have coffee, a great time, and most of all, they make a difference in the lives of others. Quilts are made for survivors of house fires, for police officers to have in their cars for people in need, for people all across the world who rely on quilts for heat, and for our shut-ins.
4. Building Odds and Ends
Our building houses many ministries, including the Food Pantry, WIC, and Scouts. We also have worship services, age-based programs, small groups, and other frequent functions in our building. Our building has been a blessing for decades and continues to be. This group takes care of odds and ends around the church to ensure the building is ready to be used for many!
5. Worship Music Team
Songs and musical elements of our worship services are prayerfully planned and prepared through the ministry of our Worship Music Team. This team contains musicians, vocal leaders, and members of our church who are passionate about worship music and want to share their musical talents to glorify God.
6. Church Council
The heart of our church leadership is our team known as the Church Council. This group is made up of our council president, vice president, secretary, and six committee chairpersons. Along with the pastor, they cast a vision for Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, are accountable for our congregation, and faithfully trust in the Holy Spirit to guide us into the world to make disciples and love people.
7. Congregational Care Teams
Our Home Communion Team takes communion to those who cannot make it to church. Those in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, who are housebound, and hospitalized. This team works with the pastor to make sure these folks receive communion, get cared for through visits, and loved on behalf of their church family. We also have a Sunshine Committee that sends out cards and flowers, and visits our shut-ins.
8. Faith Formation Teams
Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation, Youth Group, and all ministries that help our young members grow in their faith are led and planned by our Faith Formation Teams. These teams make sure that there are many opportunities for the young disciples of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church to learn and grow in their faith.
9. Worship Teams
Part of what makes worship such a moving experience is the behind the scenes work! Our Altar Committee prepares Holy Communion, fills oil into our altar candles, places flowers on the altar, changes the paraments (colorful altar linens), and ensures everything is ready to go for worship on Wednesdays and Sundays. Our Worship Helpers greet, usher, and assist with communion. Our Fellowship Servers prepare coffee and goodies for fellowship following worship.
10. Meal Preparers
One of the greatest ways to bring comfort to others is by making delicious food for them to enjoy. We do this really well! Whether is on Sunday mornings after worship, making soup and sandwiches during Lenten suppers, or making food for Funeral luncheons. Preparing food is a ministry, and if you love preparing dishes, we encourage you to share your love with us!
